Frequently asked questions
Do you work with small independent cafes or only large chains?
We work with both.
Over the years we've built relationships with a wide range of businesses across Australia — from single-location specialty cafes to larger multi-site operations — and we value both equally.
What matters to us isn't the size of your business, it's the standard you hold yourself to. Our wholesale partners share a commitment to quality, and that's something we see just as much in independent cafes as we do in larger chains.
As direct importers from Japan for Matcha, we've spent countless years refining our sourcing and supply to ensure consistency and reliability at every level.
How long are shipping times?
We typically dispatch orders within 1–3 business days from our warehouse in Melbourne.
Once dispatched, delivery times will depend on your location and Australia Post's network, but most metro areas receive their order within a 1-4 business days of dispatch.
If you're planning around a specific date or have an urgent requirement, we recommend placing your order as early as possible or reaching out to us directly and we'll do our best to accommodate you.
Can you scale supply if my business grows significantly?
Absolutely.
For wholesale partners who anticipate higher or more consistent volume, we're able to reserve dedicated stock to ensure your supply is protected — no competing for inventory during busy periods or high-demand seasons.
This kind of arrangement works best when we have a bit of forward visibility into your needs, so we'd encourage you to have that conversation with us early. The more we understand your business, the better we can plan around it.
If you're scaling up or forecasting significant growth, reach out and we'll work out an arrangement that gives you the confidence and consistency your business needs.
Where is your matcha sourced?
All of our matcha is sourced directly from Japan. Depending on the product, matcha may come from different regions across Japan, each chosen for their unique growing conditions, cultivars, and harvest periods — all of which influence the flavour and quality of the final product.
For specific sourcing details including region, cultivar, and harvest period, please refer to the individual product listings.
Will I have a dedicated account manager?
Yes. Once you're set up as a wholesale partner with Tea Society, we appoint a dedicated account manager to handle your account directly. They'll be your single point of contact for orders, restocking, and any questions or issues that come up along the way.
We find this makes for a much smoother experience — you're not chasing down answers or starting from scratch every time you get in touch. Someone who knows your business and your needs is always on hand.
